Nov 13, 2012 Myths!

Homework: Write your own myth!  Due Monday

Today in class we reviewed what myths were and how it affected the daily lives of Sumerians.  We brainstormed myths that we knew, as well as examples of what would NOT be a myth.  We read an example of a myth from Ancient Greece that taught us the lesson, Don't be greedy!  It also gave an explanation for where the Narcissus flower came from.

Sooooo, in class we will be writing our own myths!  Students need to write a myth that either tells us why something happens (like why does it rain) or teaches us a lesson....or both!  This is a myth tool on the scholastic site that might help you if you have complete writers block.  Finally, here is the rubric that will be used to grade your myth so make sure to check it out before you finish your final draft!

Myths will be due Monday.  When you begin writing them, create a new Google doc.  If you don't know how to do this, see me!  The sooner you share it with me the sooner I can edit it before it is due!
